i was supposed to be on my way to florida now, and my daughter was meeting up with a school friend in disney she is 7 yrs old and really gutted, we have re booked the holiday through thompson's and it may cost another £850 .
i am more gutted for my daughter as she wont have the chance to meet her friend now as they flew out wednesday and will be back before we get there :'(
so i am sulking
That's sad, from many angles.
we will bounce back, but can't help thinking that my plane was set to leave at 10.45 and its now 10.43 so in going down the lotty for some therapy
oh dear thats not good, hope you dont have to shell out again!
have a good day at your lottie :)
Would you be covered by your travel insurance Digalotty?
Monday is going to be total chaos... in areas where the schools are going back you can bet lots of staff will be stranded somewhere else... :-X

Luckly Europe isn't so bad I suppose, there's always the ferries and channel tunnel.
Edit..or not..http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8626686.stm
still unclear to whats happening but as far as i know it will cost me around 4 to 5 hundred quid but i will get my holiday even if i have to go much later , my daughter is getting use to the idea that if we cancell again then maybe later in the year, but atleast we will get to see harry potter world then.
travel insurance are saying act of god and wont cover anything, and thomson are saying now ive re booked i dont get any of the offers that made me book in the first plaice >:(
Today we talked with some friends whose sister and hubby were stuck in SIBERIA due to their plane's route. Of all the places to be stuck, I wouldn't want it to be Siberia! Brrrrr.
nor me :)
Ban just been pushed to 1:00am... Monday here

Hi Y'All
To pack or not to pack - to cancel UK hotel booking/parking or not - those are the questions. After working myself silly on the lottie to 'get ready' for going away, unless a miracle happens in the next 24hrs we won't be. So all commiserations Digeroo, still, look at it this way, wonderful weather, have a holiday on the lottie!! (But little girls of 7 who werelooking forward to a big adventure won't be feeling so sanguine.)
Regards Caro
Apologies to digeroo and digalotty, I got you mixed up in my last post!
Caro
So sorry for all you people who are missing out on your holidays. So disappointing.
My daughter due to fly 1st of May.Hope it is over by then. :-\
Is it a wood floor that buckled? Ours did and I thought we'd have to replace the boards (white or red oak) in that area but my husband said it would eventually lie flat again, which, to my amazement, it did. After a few months of walking on it, it was back to normal with just a slight amount of roughness.
Sorry to hear about your predicament. Having each person hand wash their own clothes might be an interesting education if they're old enough. I did that for 8 months once and it is doable if it is done every evening and doesn't pile up and get overwhelming. Still, not a joy.
Just read in our local paper that they may use the Royal Navy to bring people home, don't hold yer breath though, the Navy hasn't got that many ships left and the ones they do have might break down. ::)
