I put in some Autumn Bliss (I think) last year and they did really well, but they've suckered like buggery and I had no idea how invasive they were - at least a 4' spread and very rampant. Am I doing something wrong? I don't remember my dad's summer fruiting rasps suckering like this.
Mine do the same.
They are very shallow rooted so get a spade in around the ones you want and just dig them out.

Clearing a very large bed of them at the moment 7 x 5 mtrs....given away at least 30, re-planted a similar amount and guess what...still got as many again.
Bed has not been touch for many years...
When they go they ....don't seem to stop... ;)
I've come to the conclusion that the only way to stop them travelling is to sink paving stones on their side all the way down and around the raspberry beds as they grow under them if they're flat! She says after digging out suckers in the middle of the strawberry bed at the weekend!

I have suckers growing in three of my raised beds - which are alongside the raspberry row. They are also Autumn Bliss. I'm thinking of digging them out after harvesting this year and trying a different variety. Anyone recommend a less invasive Autumn fruiting one?

Oh dear I have put some not far from my fence, and my neighbours garden is so printine and neat. Looks like they will come up under his gravel path. :o
