Title: digi switchover
Post by: macmac on April 08, 2010, 19:44:38
Have any of you been "switched over"yet ?
we had the big one yesterday and I'm screaming at th box >:( >:( >:(
We've got a hard drive twin tuner (Daewoo)and run the tv through that I've retuned and retuned 'til I'm blue in the face and while I get channels showing on the EPG when I go to them they say "no signal"and theres nothing on them but interestingly I can record them and watch later so don't understand the no signal mlarky.
I thought they said it would be simple where's the meercat when you need him  :)Any suggestions folk and no a brick IS out of the question. ;)
ps the set upstairs running off the same aerial is fine ???

Some digital receivers take longer to pick up the information than others. I often get the "No Information" sign but go back a bit later and it's OK.

I am really dreading it when it gets to us.  Our digital has been awful for months certain channlels have been unwatchable and at times there have only been two or three watchable.  Basically BBC! and ITV3 and sometimes another one.    Every time someone in the vicinity uses a lawn mower we loose signal.

I also like Ceefax and that will disappear altogether.

We had a few wobbles recently ,I kept having to retune the tv as channels had dropped off overnight. The big switchover as you see from this thread was a problem but I suppose given what a big job this is there were bound to be teething troubles but hopefully things are settling down .If not 'will have to phone the meerkats, simples  ;)

When I complained about the service when we had a partial switchover, they blamed my ariel, my setbox, my telly, anything taht was mine was the trouble. No they had not c0cked it up. It was my fault. Then to cap it all they stated in a letter that we do not officially receive digital until 2012. So they will not offically receive my licence fee until then.

QUE,the we ain't got a telly brigade.

I like them really cause they still  pay the extra costs in the shops that go towards advertising on the box. Saves me a few shillings.
