You have been warned!!
Katie Price signed by Gardeners World, to replace Alys??????
C'mon spill the beans. ;D
Gardening related? Only because I happen to garden!
More like an Anniversary.
??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Lord Lucan found tending his lottie in Norfolk, with Shergar supplying the nuts in the paddock behind him. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :P
Concord, that pinacle of British engineering, turns out to have been invented by the French.
It is Tim and Katie Price.
Peter Stringfellow told me that he had seen the photos and they made him blush.
My lips are sealed!
Happy 90th birthday for today Tim :-)
All our exposes are carefully researched and I can confidently confirm the accuracy of our reporting.
Recognizing you as an aging RAF officer . 92 years in April since the flying Corps merged with Navy Air Service. They are doing a stamp of you!!! Giving you an OBE,, or better still a gold plated garden fork to be presented in your garden by Prince Charles..(both in wellies of course)
Or... the News of the World was hanging over the garden gate when you were weeding in your unmentionables!!!
Tim, we don't get the paper here.XX Jeannine
The News of the World is renowned for its sex scandals so I dread to think what Tim has been up to and with whom!! ;D ;D ;D
Jeannine, you can read the paper on line here: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/
Well it beats me, hope someone puts a better link on, as I am not in the Uk.
What's this rubbish about Tim being 90??? That can't be possible, are you pulling his leg??
Tim, it wasn't you having an altercation with Katie Price in the Comet carpark, was it :)

Look at Tim's profile...
... I know... it seems unbelieveable... puts me at least to shame...
:o :o :o :o :o
Heavens above, I am hard pressed doing all that at 40!!! ;D ;D ;D
So it's true that hard work keeps you young (bugger, bugger, bugger, I was hoping it was more sitting with your feet up with a McVities digestive watching EastEnders!!)
We did Happy Birthday in December http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,56991.0.html
Jeannine - you've come closest. But we're not being given anything - mean b******s! - exceopt lunch!!
I do, Jay - but we're only overlooked by close friends.
I have to say that I'd rather be in the Guardian!!
They may surprise you Tim... won't say anymore cos I think I may have it worked out.
I think it is super and you surely deserve it.
Must admit I agree with you about the Guardian..but maybe you will make the local TV..you should you know.
XX Jeannine
;D
I don't often have a Sunday paper but I'll definitely buy a News of the World tomorrow.
Jeannine is way ahead.
I hope it was a decent lunch!
Tim my daughter writes for the DM & Sunday Times is that any better ;D.
Point me to her bit in the ST - we have it.
Apparently, a couple of other papers will carry something.
NOTW - renowned more for bare bums (& other things B) than for bare truths?
it's the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain
wonder of Tim read or heard the piece by Clive James about Sir Keith Park and his statue on the 4th plinth, seething with rage that some journalist on a posh paper saying she'd never heard of him and didn't know what all the fuss was about
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8359288.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8359288.stm)
He did!
It's on line folks. Well done Tim & co. What a man.

Amazing well done tim.
That link doesn't work for me; comes up page not found :-(

The *L* was omitted from the html bit
Do a search for Elkington on the news of the world website. It will bring up the page.
NOTW sales down tomorrow then ;D ;D ;D.
Congratulations Tim but then you've always been famous onA4 :)
Wow, not really sure what else to say really. I cannot imagine how scared one must be in a situation like that
Sincere congratulations Tim. A Hurricane and a Spitfire occasionally fly down our valley.
Thanks Digeroo for the link. Excellent, thought provoking piece by Clive James.

Tim you are up there with the "people I would like to meet".
Couldn't have done better myself, Mr E - but how did you find our Forum?? Walls have ears!!
Pretty pass - never thought I'd have to be helped into the cockpit of a Spitfire by a Lady Reporter. In 'the olden days' it was up, up & in!!
= Tim
PS - for A4Aers - rather nice??
what an amazing article! The wounds being cauterized and forgetting to unhook your oxygen and radio, makes reading historical articles so much more personal & accessible with memories like that. Thank you Tim x
Tim the accolades are well deserved! Here's a terrific Hurricane photo for you to enjoy

Just great - but it once again raises the question of outboard guns protruding. Never in my Service. Only in Canada??
= Tim
Congratulations Tim,you deserve the recognition. ;D
Tim I'll have to ask a friend who's bound to know! Meantime here's one of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Hurricanes which doesn't have them protruding!

many congrats Tim !!
Fantastic story. You are an amazing man. Wow!!
You are a very brave man Tim.
Definition of bravery is being scared sh*tless but still doing what needs to be done.
Congratulations on it being recognised ;D
Par Adua ad Astra ;)
Excellent, I salute you sir and now i'm speachless. ;)
Well done sir, i would love to sit and listen to some of your stories over a pint or two all of which would be on me.
Lovely to read the article about you Tim xx :)
Great stories of some of those brave men. I went out to buy NOTW, should have been patient, could have read the article in great detail on A4A.
Just seen you on the telly Tim, filmed at Duxford. Wonderful. Salutes to you and all the other brave men.
d**n - missed it!!
Which Channel?
wow 8) 8)
marg
It was on BBC Look East local news. Was scanning all the group shots for you, then the closing shot was of you getting out the plane and quoted you about no longer jumping in - or something similar. No mistaking you!!!
They even acknowledged the NoW!!
Thanks so much - must try to get a copy.
= Tim
Congratulations Tim, well deserved recognition.
Lovely to read the article about you
Thank you x
What a story. I'm humbled.
Heavens, how fascinating! Thank you for your amazing bravery! But really, many of us can be braver than we imagine once you are in the actual situation. My dad was in the merchant navy which was also actually very dangerous, but it was just what you had to do. Our generations that have never lived through a war have trouble picturing all that...
Strange images of his spring onions saluting him as he walks past! ;D ;D
I second that - sailed to Canada & India & returned from Russia with them.
Wonderful people.
Plot51A - thanks again - they're sending me a DVD.
= Tim
Very pleased to have been of help Tim, and delighted they are sending you the DVD. Didn't think much of the Edward Fox bit!
He was caught unawares outside - he did a brilliant spiel over coffee.
A real charmer.
= Tim
You are a real hero Tim, very, very brave.
I found this link too.

Awe-inspiring story Tim,
much respect and all best CLx
just caught up with this thread Tim - wonderful story thanks for giving us the nod as it were :)
Congratulations Tim, Great respect to you & your colleages.
THANK YOU.
It's just such an unreal experience for the rest of us Tim, that was something to live through.
Unreal? Yes.
Certainly unusual!!
What can I say Tim, I think its all been said, you've made us all so bloody proud to know you. ;D ;D ;D
Tim I read it first thing Sunday morning and felt so utterly proud of you and the boys.
I loved the pic of you in the cockpit and the video too, you look amazing and walk so tall.
Thank you boys, for all that you did.
Always remembered x
Just have to add this one to show that I took my own Cardiac Nurse with me - & for the benefit of all those present - even older than me!!
= Tim
PS Plot51 - did I say that I now have the DVD - thanks. SO embarrassing - the getting in & out bit - never thought I'd make it - despite being helped by all those Ladies!! But Daughter insisted.
What a lovely photo Tim :)
An amazing story Tim. I remember bits of it when I was on A4A before, but didn't know the full details. You really are a hero!
I really don't think my generation can fully appreciate what our parents and grandparents went through to win us freedom. It really is amazing, awesome (not a word I use lightly) and humbling!
