not sure if these are what you mean but i got some courgette seeds from the dig in set and i;'m not touching them with a barge pole so they're yours with no return if you want them. just pm me if you do.,
As far as I know, Butternut Squash seeds will actually grow as Courgettes as they start to revert back to their origin.
I'm only saying this because my parents thought they'd grow some Squash but ended up with Courgette.

[attachment=1]Can I ask why you would not use them? My carrots and butternut squash from them last year did very well.
I don't know how my question got into the quote box.

I have grown BNS seeds from supermarket fruits and they were definitely BNS., actually some of the best I have ever grown. Maybe if you saved seed it got crossed with a courgette. I would suggest a bit of hand pollination.

The seed came from a BNS I gave to my mother from the veg farm I used to work at, so no pollination was involved by myself, however, the farm does grow everything, so could easily have happened on site.

No worries on that account. Courgettes are cucurbita pepo and butternuts are cucurbita moschata, different from each other and they don't cross. Courgettes cross with halloween pumpkins, acorn squashes, bitter tasting decorative squashes and a whole lot more. Butternuts cross with long snake like tromboncino squashes, the round types like Tancheese or elongated Sucrine du Berry.
Anybody can eat immature butternuts as courgettes or mature courgettes (marrows) fully grown.

I have cucumber Dekah, if you'd like to try them.
