Hello all.
I'm starting to think about the new garden we might possibly be moving to this autumn. And I want to grow some white raspberries. Does anyone know if there are any good suppliers in the UK? Google isn't turning up much...
Thanks!
Issy
I would be surprised if you found one Luther Burbank created a hybrid white raspberry around 100 years ago but it wasn't widely distributed because the fruit was too soft for it to be commercially viable crop. Most talk of white raspberries comes from the states where people call yellow fruited varieties such as 'all gold' white raspberries.
That's interesting - also just noticed I have called them Raps Berries, which makes them sound far more edgy than they are! Hopefully I will find some - although I'm planning to grow a few yellow canes as well :)
I grow Fall Gold yellow raspberries. They don't need staking even on my windy and exposed site. Fruit is firm and sweet.
i much prefer white black berries to white raspberries but yellow ones are not the white ones that Burbank developed
