Title: spicy broad bean snack

If any of you dry your own broad beans....

I've tasted the packeted snack he mentions and they are sinfully addictive. I believe you have to have dried not fresh beans

Those look really good!!

I have tried something similar with tinned chickpeas and it is equally as addictive!

Will have to try these-have bought the shop version from health food shops and they are addictive-I did try to tell myself they were healthy .....

I was surprised to find that broad beans were integral to Egyptian cuisine

I thought they were a cold country  vegetable because they tolerate so much cold.

Yet the Egyptians adore them and even have dishes with them in the pod.

Whilst I do not dislike them, I think they are  a 'man's vegetable'. Ladies seem to find the flavour, rather strong.

Perhaps they are underated as a staple because there is so much fiddling with podding them.

They seem to grow anywhere are resistant to disease, Just a bit of a lure to blackfly.

I love these as a bar snack with a nice cold drinkette  ;)
