Title: Piccolo di Parigi Gherkins or is there a better one?
Post by: Hector on March 28, 2010, 21:37:27
Any of you grown this before...did a search and couldn't see it being grown last season? I love pickled gherkins, so looking for a good 'un. I see some of you grew another variety outside???

I grew them outdoors last year.... did well for me, still got a load of gherkins left :D..... you'll probably want about five plants and pick over them regularly (like 2-3 times a week), that way you can get a load all the same size for a pickling session.... they keep happily in the fridge for a week too giving you the chance to pickle more in one go too.... if a plant stops producing then you have to search out the monster that it has set and hidden away......
