We're moving very soon and the cabbage's I've planted in the garden need to be moved to the allotment (because my letting agents will charge me for a gardener to remove them if i leave them >:( not that i want to anyway...) so i've been looking to see if there's anything special i need to do before/whilst moving them but cant seem to find much about well established ones.
is there a big chance they're going to die if i move them?
can i just lift them and transfer them?
Try it and see.
Just keep as much soil around the roots as possible and give it a go!
As Robert says.....try it.....still plenty of time to sow more cabbage seed.
Good luck.
ok i'll keep as much soil as poss when i move them, i'll add that they are my spring cabbages so they're almost(?) rather than seedlings, this wont make a difference right?
Nothing to lose, as the others say - see how you get on. People buy cabbage plants from garden centres don't they? so I'm guessing they move. Good luck with the move!
By the way - that's the best thread subject line I've read. Next week, nudging a leek. ;)
