Great, I'm not sure how I manage to destroy mine. I've got more regular stuff and lots of flowers, perhaps I have something else you may prefer? :)

Yes, plenty. Sounds good to me I'll send a pm
Gosh Emma, that is an impressive list. How much growing space do you have (and is there anything you do not grow) and how long have you been growing vegetables for? reading that and your past messages, you truly seem to try to grow everything and anything, again, as i said i am truly impressed. (wish you lived near me, i would so be popping over to your place to have a good old nosy around ;D)
Kx
I'm a bit embarrassed now :-[
I do love growing 'different' crops/veggies but they seem to fit in around the more ussual things quite well. Saving seed seems a natural extention of growing :)
My garden looks nothing special just my idea of bliss :)
Hi Jayb, right, where do I send the cheque? ;D Your list is my idea of Christmas, birthdays and everything else all come at once!!
What are you looking for in 'unusual' seeds? I have got:
Lettuce Black-seeded Simpson
" Fat Lazy Blonde
" Drunken Woman
" Marvel of 4 Seasons
" Dazzle
" Lobjoits Green cos
Asparagus Lettuce
Beetroot Yellow Cylindrical
Broad Bean Masterpiece Green Longpod
Cardoon
Couve Tronchuda
Callalloo
Varigated American Land Cress
Pea Avola
" Lancashire Lad (few)
" Progress no. 9
Radish Hildsblauer Herbst
Salsify
Scorzonera
Seakale
Sweet Cicely
I'm also waiting for a load of 'oddments' from America, can't remember offhand what, a few squashes, Thai Basil and a couple of beans whose name escapes me.
Let me know if anything sounds interesting enough!
Best wishes,
Rosemary
PS Just thought, have got half a ton or so of Jerusalem artichokes if you want some, complete with 'organic' slugs!!
Hi Torreya,
Thanks for the interest :) we must have similar taste as we have many of the same seeds ;D. I'd be interested in swapping some seeds for some of your Yellow Cylindrical beetoot.
Thanks Jayb- seeds here, the postman must think me a big kid at times.I know I should be working but the compost is calling.
Cheers.
A huge thank you to Cefer ;D I hope I will be able to repay your kindness.
Nice swap ;D thank you Richard, 1066 and VJM63, seeds happily received, compost awaits ;D
I still have lots left for anyone interested, although if no one wants the tubers I will be eating them Yummm ;D
Oh no...do not eat them yet...I allways have room for another thing or two or.... ::)...have you got all what you were after?...
I've got plenty of tomato varieties available but not in huge quantities..interested?
Hi Jayb
I've been looking for Mashua for a while to complete the Andean tuber 'set'. Do you have any left?
I can offer black fleshed potatoes, and a few odds and ends. Blood-veined sorrel? Maybe a few odd unusual chillies. Otherwise I'm all traded out for the year apart from things you already have. I could find you a couple of Chinese artichokes, but I've only recently received them in a swap, and they are already in leaf - could give it a go tho'.
Obviously I'll have to save more seed this year.

Is there a chance of swapping some tiger nuts and some ulluco?
These are 2009 and 2008 French beans I could offer in return.
Rose Family Bean
A very large green bean, with large seeds. We eat them green, but some use mainly the seeds for shelling. Tall variety
Georgian #6. A long to very long green snap bean from Georgia, later than most and just in time for saving seed. Tall growing.
Georgian # 7. This is a wonderful dual use green bean, tall growing with large pods. Also makes wonderful shelling beans. Very robust.
Gramma Walters. This is an Canadian version of the Borlotto beans. Tall growing, red striped fat pods which yield up to 6 yummy round red and white speckled shelling beans.
Rattlesnake. Early, slightly curved green pods with dark purple striping. We use them for green pods, but some people use them for dry seeds. Tall bean. One of a handful of varieties that seem to thrive in just about any climate.
Boston Beauty. A bush, dwarf variety. The seeds are similar to Trout aka Jacob's Cattle but a variety in their own right. Early, dry bean.
Cousin Oliver's. Tall bean. Green with purple striping. Very nice as green beans but need their string removing. Prolific. Also good for dry seed.
from 2008
Brejo. This is an Indian Bean that grows very well in northern areas. The pods are light green, up to a foot long and an inch wide. An impressing looking snap bean. On the side towards the sun the beans develop some pretty red speckling Tall growing.
Piros Feher. This is a Hungarian heirloom bean. Dwarf, bush bean with Red and white seeds. Piros is red and feher white in Hungarian. This is the Hungarian answer to Trout or Boston Beauty.
Georgian #2. This is from packet 2. A robust, dwarf bush bean producing lots of larger than average reddish drying beans. .
On a slightly different tack, I'm growing Brejo for the HSL this year. It sounds like a good bean from what you say. What size should the green beans be picked at? I'm wondering how tender they're likely to be at a foot long!
Very tender indeed with slight string. Less string than your average runnerbean. I do not harvest them at less than full size. You can sort of tell from the large seeds that this is not going to be a small bean. I'll have to find a photo and learn how to upload it here. Sorry to mention another forum, but some of the pictures on 'Dave's Garden' are from me.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to trying it!
Goodlife I'm sure we can work something out
Hi Ian, perhaps you will save me a couple Chinese Arties for next year.
Galina, Yes Ullaco and Tiger nuts spare. A lovely selection of beans you have listed.
I'll send you all a pm.

My family think I am, I get so excited when I receive seeds!
Jayb
seeds and tubers arrived safely. Thank you so much! Very excited here too! :)
Glad they arrived safely Galina. Your beans look gorgeous and I can't wait to see and taste how they do ;D
I think just about everything has arrived now, so Thanks to everyone who has swapped.
This is my first year for growing fruit so I would like some Cape Gooseberry if possible. I will go through my big box of seeds to see if there is anything"unusual"
but am not hopeful as I have only grown standard things like lettuce, tomatoes etc.
I will email you re the gooseberry but if they are all gone just ignore, thank you.
Got your pm thanks Nemesia, do you want the tall growing sort (my favorite) or the smaller annual type?
Chrisc, thank you very much, lovely looking and might I add well chitted tubers arrived all safe and sound.
Jayb
first Tiger Nut shoots here! From the ones in a pot in the conservatory. They look a bit like newly germinated sweet corn. Very exciting! Thank you
Yayyyy, great going. I'm doubly glad you posted this, I haven't planted mine yet ;D
Your beans are planted, I'm on regurlar compost watch :o ;D
