Title: Ceanothus winter damage
Post by: Digeroo on March 25, 2010, 12:50:26
I have a friend with a Ceanothus which has suffered badly in the cold winter.  Does anyone have any experience of them sprouting new leaves or is it likely to have died?

I have never had one that has lasted more than 10 years. I think the wet does for thir roots, but I would cut it back to the green wood  and give it another chance before they forsake it for dead.

They have come back on one I sawed off near the ground so they will definately reshoot.
