I planted some kale last April and it has cropped really well. I was gonna dig it up and throw it on the compost heap when I noticed it's growing really well again...
Shall I leave alone and see if it will continue to crop again this year? Or am I wasting my time? :)
Anyone got any advice? I only set aside enough room for 6 plants to don't want have both old and new....

All my kale failed this time (club root) but in previous years, this was the time I looked forward to - delicious tender new growth rather like purple sprouting. I never dug them up until they flowered in spite of all my cropping.
I grew some under a mesh tunnel overwinter and harvested the lot yesterday, but only because I need the space. They would have kept going for longer as long as the pigeons are kept off of them.....I grow new each year, but you can keep your original plants going until the new ones are ready!
It will probably go to seed since this is the second year, but use it meanwhile. You could save the seed, though it may cross-pollinate with other brassicas.
I have some Black Tuscan kale which is just starting to go to seed now.
My black cavolo nero is growing some wonderful tender new leaves so I won't be pulling it up just yet.A bonus as all my purple sprouting came to nothing after being buried in 2 feet of snow.
