OK Missy, here's what you try.....
Click on Control Panel - choose Classic View if it's not your default, it's v. self-explanatory.
Rt.hand column, 3rd down, click on Change Keyboards, then once you've done that
Click on "how do I change the keyboard for the welcome screen"
This brings you to Change your keyboard layout.
You can follow directions from there OR do as they suggest at the bottom of the screen...
"Ask someone"
And I always thought that puter nerds who write programmes (or programs, even) didn't have a sense of humour (or even humor!!)
;D ;D ;D
I can't seem to do it.. I can't find things like I could on the previous hard drive. I ffel like scrapping this one and starting again,I should have done that instead of having it fixed. I have another queation put I will put it on a seperate spot. Thanks Lish for trying for me.

If i understand correctly ,rare but not unknown, what you want/need to do
is select English (United Kingdom) rather than English (United States) from the list. Maybe
hth
It is set on English US.English UK was not on the list as an option!! I could have had English Welsh though LOL
Reason to change it is.. some of the keys on my keyboard don't do what they should do since I had the new hard drive installed. eg Iused to have $ and a UK pound sign(that has gone) ##### this is in it,s place
where that symbol should be it is\\\\\\\\\\\\
My @ symbol and my " symbols have swapped places
My UK sign is nowhere,
It is driving me nuts,, XX Jeannine
