Hi Y'All
Some weeks ago I picked up two incredible bargain. Two areca Palms for 49 pence each from Focus. I was thrilled, but as the leaves were looking dry I took them home watered them and sprayed them. and I congratulated myself on getting a bargain. They are on the shaded side of my conservatory, hottish during the day, but I am afraid very cold these past few weeks at night.
Now every leaf is a dry crackly brown, some pull out almost just at a touch, and I am thinking that I paid 49 pence each for empty flower pots. Or do palms do this, and will then 'come back'?
I know the answer is out there, and any help would be very much appreciated
Regards Caro
Awwwww it sounds like the root has rotted away, the leaves will look ok ish for a while after so it may have been a lost cause hun :(
Best tip is always tip a plant out of its pot to see if the roots are alive, no roots no plant.
