Was pottering on the plottie this afternoon and could hear the sound of breaking glass! :o So off I wander (being basically a nosey type!! ;)) and there is one of my fellow plotholders standing over what USED to be her shed, burnt to the ground it was! She was very philosophical about it and said, well it gives me more room to plant, and that soil is now full of wood ash, so should be fertile.
Apparently they torched 2 on our site on the 3rd November. Poor lady unfortunately had the mess to clear up and glass to get rid of, she said there wasn't much in it thank goodness.
Puts me right off my "dream" of having a shed on my patch! Irritating little toads.
Bl**dy hells bells. You would think...well hope, now that the nights are drawing in and it is frrrreezing out, they would stay home and irritate their parents!
It's probably because they irritate their parents so much that they are thrown out of the house and are out there causing mayhem for the rest of us

Here we go again - it is so awful when this happens! As EJ says, you wouldn't associate this time of year with vandals. It really gets my goat when I hear about this sort of thing. I admire your lottie neighbour for her patience and optimism. >:( busy_lizzie
I am very fortunate, as I have been given a shed for my 'Yet to be Lottie', ::) and "unfortunately" sheds have been torched in the past, so I am very reluctant to leave any tools whatsoever in the shed and feel it will only be used for rain cover until the arsonist decides otherwise. Suppose I should thank Mr Blair for that short time piece of comfort till that day comes. ::)
Sadly, I don't think that it is only irritating little oiks, I think that its also (and possibly mainly) irritating big oiks. The other week, our site had a lot of sheds broken into and strimmers, lawn mowers and rotovators nicked. This happened one Saturday afternood when it was lashing down with rain. They must have had a vehicle of some kind 'cos loads of equipment was taken.
I must admit that I am entirely lost for words (especially ones that can be broadcast) when it comes to the things that these sods do. I have been very saddened by the many instances that I have read on this site. It always seems to hit those whose can least afford it.
