After a couple of years of debate we've decided to get chickens. We, that is my wife, pretty much knows what she wants both in terms of breed and housing - I shall be building an Ark myself.
Our garden is surrouned on two sides by an 8' wall, on the third by the house (except for the 6' gate), and on the other by a 6' fence, plus we have 2 dogs, so we're pretty much fox resistant. The hens will have the run of the garden - except my veg patch, during the day most days.
What I'd like is a decent book on keeping chickens - I know it's strange these days but both my wife an I like books. So what do you recommend?
When I saw the thread title in the recent activity for some reason I thought you were trying to do a book of pressed chickens..... I need some sleep cos I'm not helping much here......
Good luck BTW
The only one I have is what my OH got me for Christmas 3 yrs ago. It has been good enough for what I need so far. Never had to consider an alternative:

I just googled it and got tons:

I thought it was a thread on what chickens like to read...or that the chickens had a book club. :-[
Or would that be a 'book-book' club? :D
