I think Gilbert and Sullivan were popular.
I think it might be something by Vera Lynn!
(I do know that Olivier was filming the Agincourt sequence from "Henry V" the week I was born.)
Nothing there for Teddy and I - Marjorie Antrobus ;)
When we were born the music was just too good to be classed as pop. In one day and out the other. ;D

The UK singles charts didn't start until the 14th November 1952.
The UK album chart didn't start until 24th July 1956.
This site may be a little easier to use:
http://www.everyhit.com/dates/
You just enter your DOB & it tells you the No1 single & album with the option of viewing the No1 on every subsequent birthday too. They have the UK sheet music charts from 26th August 1946 up until the singles charts started, if you were born before that there is not much point looking at the site.
Mine was The Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays.
Boomtown Rats " I Dont llike Mondays" i cant believe how perfectly that song title descirbes me.
