watched country file last month and saw the walking stick kale, i first saw this a few years ago in garden organic catalogue and was intrigued but did not grow. have any of you grown this and if so how tall did it reach. i am going to grow it this year and maybe in two years i shall have a walking stick. which hopefully i won't need! ah but i could use it instead of bamboo, so now i need a jungle of kale for my bean poles.
I've got a few seeds (not enough for a swap unfortunately) but that's as far as I've got. I've seen the seeds on a website somewhere quite recently, but I can't remember where.
I think Thompson & Morgan have it.
will put a photo on when the kale is growing. sorry for my poor grammar. my children were in hysterics, as i am not grammatically correct in my messages.

18ft :o :o how do ya net that to keep the pigeons off. ;D
That's what I'm wondering. My guess is that it'll be slaughtered. I may try it this year though.
I suggest you put a little collection of hawthorn twigs over the growing point.

Getting them there will be a bit of a problem ;D
pigeons loved it; problem to get it to grow straight; good talking point on the plots though so good value!
If I could get one through the winter it would have plenty of time to get massive for next year's show!
