I've been asked if I would like to take part in an event at Birmingham City university next month. I'm going to take a nice new scarecrow with me....

This one is having to stay here at home till after the Uni thing. My husband just walked in the front door and nearly had a heart attack...
Strangely though, the dogs took no notice of it.

All my scarecrows look as though they're related. According to my son, this one looks like his dad.
It's going to stay in the hall for the moment, but I might take it shopping with me tomorrow. If the seat belt fits, he'll be wearing it.
Just brilliant. What a talent! ;D

Its great what do you make the face out of? Can you publish how to make instructions?
Your scarecrows are fabulous even if one of them does look like our Kev! ;D ;D

Sorry, forgot to answer this the other day.
The face is made out of the body part of tights. I use two pairs of XLarge tights, knot the legs together and cut the remainder of the legs off. Then put them inside each other to make a double layer. I stuff it with old cushion stuffing, or duvet stuffing. The nose is an extra lump of stuffing, with strong cord wound round it and knotted.
This sounds much more complicated than it actually is. I'll try to do some photos when I have some more stuffing.

LOL, poor Kev!
that is the best scarecrow I've seen, its brilliant :-)
Wow he's great. :D
Fantastic.
As ever wonderful!
But I do have to ask - why are you taking him to the Uni in the 1st place? My mind is boggling :D
Alright, alright less of the Kev scarecrow, although it has got my work coat and vest on, I might even get a pair of glasses and post a piccie to see if theres any similarities, if I suss out how post piccies that is, Betty you have to take it shopping in the car and leave it there and see the looks you'll get. ;D ;D ;D

Birmingham City uni is just down the road from the allotments so we were asked if we would like to put on some sort of display at the event. I'm not even sure what it's about, apart from it's something to do with diversity. Because nothing much is growing at the moment, I thought a scarecrow might be interesting.
It isn't until March 10th so he will be sitting in my hall till then.
Aaahhh - I knew there had to be a reason somewhere ;D

When I take it to the uni I've got to get it from the car park to the building, that will probably be worse than taking it shopping with me. ;D
borrow a shopping trolley, I'd pay to see people's faces :o ;D
