Ok so I bought 2 x Elstar apple trees and a conference pear. Trouble is I don't think thye tell me what rootstock they're grafted onto. Does anyone know?

Mine came with a label which tells you what was used

you never get to know the rootstock i'm afraid. Because of that I espaliered mine so they won get too big and take over. You could also keep them small in bush form if you are prepared to spend half an hour each winter getting the pruning done.
I bought 1 cox's pipin, 1 bramley and a conference pear and thought I'd take Psi's advice and espalier them too.
Also got some Asparagus crowns to fill up the half bed I've already got.

We've only got a half plot so we grew ours as an oblique cordon. They look lovely & we had 2 Jonathon apples last year which was their first year.
