I almost forgot pancake day. Banana pancakes with creme fraiche are a favourite in our house. What's yours?
Can't beat the traditional lemon and sugar for me. Takes me straight back to childhood!
I make banana pancakes most Sundays but for Pancake Day it's got to be lemon and sugar. Fresh lemon though not Jif, which is good for cleaning!
Yummmm, pancakes lemon and sugar, still my favorite, although chocolate and banana are not far behind ;D
Heehee I've just said to the girls it's pancake day. Happiness reigns in my house!
Fresh lemon and sugar for me too. ;)
Yay i love pancake day ;D
Around my mums for the day so my daughter is currently helping :o make the batter. My fav is lemon and sugar the kiddies like them with chocolate spread not very healthy but its only once a year :P
lemon and sugar for me too!!! not today though unless I make them just for me - it will at the weekend
lemon and sugar for me maple syrup for my daughters!
Always fresh lemon and sugar. Other times it doesn't matter what the filling is.
Nice with a splash of Grand Marnier.
I like to be a bit different
Sugar and lemon for me.
;D ;D ;D
Golden syrup & fresh lemon...................yummmmmmm
Lushy x
None for me as I'm on a blubber elimination drive to get fit for spring cleaning in the garden but I've just done what I call English pancakes for Possum and two friends - fluffy drop scones served with Nutella for them, strawberry jam for OH.
For myself, I love sugar and lemon or maple syrup but Possum's all time favourite is what the Belgians call crèpes Mikado - two hot pancakes, each folded back over a large dollop of vanilla ice cream, dusted with icing sugar and a generous serving of hot chocolate sauce to finish and, in some cafés, a squirt of Chantilly whipped cream. Wicked.
we normally go with the 'lemon and sugar' sketch, (with some 'orange and sugar' for tracie's youngest boy), but this year I'll be having a few with some of the honey I collected from the bees in the back garden !! ;D ;D ;D ;D
We're going to make mini pancakes with the kids at church- using tea lights as the heat source, with the batter in small foil cases. Apparently Brownies do it, so we think we can too! Watch this space!
I'm mainly a sugar and lemon guy, but also anything sweet that is in the cupboard.
Does anybody use non-wheat flower, my OH is off wheat and dairy, she has goats milk so no problem there, but what sort of flower to use?
we use rye and barley flour in our bread but never tried pancakes with it :)
oh, I'm sugar and lemon but not this year ;D
we're going out for a curry tonight - I wonder if they do them for pud?! minus the curry flavourings and just with lemon and sugar :D
Im drooling reading these posts now
had a rubbish day at work so its the full works tonight
pancake, honey, banana and vanilla icecream
then a sugar rush headache and early bed :)
x sunloving
Thanks for the reminder! ;D
Sugar and lemon followed by hot fruit and cream. Got some frozen cherries for just such an occasion.
Strawberries and Ice-cream and a dusting of icing sugar ;D

I do not eat wheat so pancakes are a major issue. Used to love with with lemon and sugar.
I have made pancakes with buckwheat or chestnut flour. They hold together and taste ok but nothing like a real pancake. A pancake made with equal quantities of cornflour and buckwheat flour makes a good pancake. Just had some yum.
ive had baked lamb and tuscan herb pancakes for main and lemon and brandy crepes for pud (yum yum yum) and now im most contented :D

The Tuscan herb pacakes sounds great - what herbs do you use, and do you mix the herbs in with the pancake mix or after? Basically what I'm saying is recipe please :)
