Trachycarpus fortunei 'Bulgaria', reputedly hardy to -20C but I don't risk it as it spends winter inside.
Snap I have one too! pluse a few seedlings that I'm proud to say are doing well.

As you should be. I had my first attempt at germinating palms this year (Brahea armata, the Mexican Blue Palm), and got exactly 0% germination! I also did Ravenela madagascariensis, Travellers Palm, and that failed too. I've germinated bananas (Travellers Palm is actually a banana/bird of paradise, as a note for EJ, who might like something different- it has a unique growth habit) quite successfully in the past so I'm left wondering if it was me or the seed house. I solved that problem though: I bought a small plant on E-Bay!
