Hi all, pleased to have found you :) I've got lots of well rotted manure and going to try growing potatoes in tyres. What would you say is the best mix of soil and manure?
Would I be best doing this now, many thanks

Welcome Malfuntional to A4A.  I also am interested in how much manure to use.  One of my allotment neighbours has spread loads of it on his plot.  I can't help thinking he may have overdone it.

Part of my plot was 100% gravel and I added a load of manure possibly as much as 50:50.  I grew sweet corn, beans and courgettes on it.  But I was actually very surprised it did so well.

It looks like compost.I was reading that in a bed in would be a good idea to cover with black plastic about now, would this work with tyres also?
