Title: shallot advice neeed please!

hi i have just bought some shallots and i havent grown them before, do i grow the same as garlic by splitting or just plant the whole bulb,ie as an onion set?  thanks  all !!

shallots are planted as per onion sets

you plant them at the required spacing in rows and they then split up them selfs and form
new bulbs to eat store approx 4 -6 bulbs from one planted.

Shallots come in  with the following advice

Plant on the shortest day of the year and harvest on the longest.
