I use Skype to talk to my son and family but it drives me mad because the picture seems pixelated and there is a delay in the sound. Does anyone else have this problem? Or is there an alternative to Skype?
According to my teenage son MSN can be used with webcams too.
I use skype but not video on it. My daughter at Uni insists on using it all the time though.
I've got MSN but I can't find how to use the webcam with it.
I use Skype all the time between here and Oz, Italy, Spain, Japan and Belgium. Occasionally we get an echo on the line, and the picture is sometimes pixellated, but on the whole I've been pretty happy with it over the last five years we've been using it. :) :) :) :) :)

Maybe I was expecting too much. It is good to be able to see my son and his family but it takes a bit of getting used to the speech delay.

it takes a bit of getting used to the speech delay.
When I was an operator (in the 1970's), I was talking to an opertor in South America and my voice echoed back with a one second delay. My colleague explained, "It's the distance to the satellite and back twice".
