(Seldom do CAPS but this, I think, deserves it.)
Shirl's Tone is going into hospital tomorrow for a hip replacement operation (think she might have worn him out with all that leg-over action - hmmmm? ::) ;) ;D), so..all the best Tone, be thinking of you, and I'm sure that Shirl will keep us updated on your progress.
lots of love, Lish X
I saw Shirl ond ower Tone this morning when they came to our allotments. I'm sure they will both be relieved when it's all over and he is running around again.
All the best for tomorrow ower Tone,
I have seen friends come out of this op in such better shape.
Good luck Tone and shirl, sure it will be worth it all in the end. :)
Good Luck Tone :)

Sure you'll soon be up and about again Tone... just in time to put the spuds in!! :-X
speedy recovery tone
Thankyou so much for the lovely messages you have sent Tony. I am sure that your good wishes will help him to feel a bit more confident about the operation. He did have his other hip replaced about 18 years ago but he is nearly 81 now and not quite so fit. Will let you know how things go.Thanks again
Good luck to Tone, not that he'll need it :) :) My old man's (a dustman, he wears a dustman's hat ...) father had a hip replacement around about the same age and he was just fine afterwards. The sprightly FIL is up and down the bleedin' hills in Exeter every day for his shopping and such - and he does it three times as fast as me when I visit!!
Best wishes :)
Good luck Tone :)

Now that takes me back,.. shall I walk up this hill and down this hill to get to school (in Exwick, Exeter) or shall I climb over the school fence again and risk ripping my skirt again and getting my shoes muddy again...over the fence every time :P
Best wishes Tone. Hope everything goes well (I am sure it will). I bet you will be really pampered by Shirl when you get home.
Best wishes Tone. Has Shirl got her nurses uniform out yet ;D. I bet you'll put the youngsters to shame :).
Good luck Tone. Hope all goes well and you are running around soon.

Go for it Tone... get it done, then watch out Shirl, he will really go for it :o :o XX Jeannine
Tone just called to say that he is having an epidural to have his hip done. He was just waiting to be taken down. Whenever I get cross with him in future I hope that I can remember how I feel today without him being around.
The waiting is the horrible bit.
Sending a hug :)
Really really pleased that he's 1st on the list for today, Shirl, and no hanging around - gotta be good.
Now get yerself busy with all those saved-up jobs you've got and the time'll pass in a Flash (remember that? Do they still do it?)
Hugs, Lish X
He will be up n running in no time Shirl, but in the interest of hygiene for once put some knicker on when ya go out, that handwash ya have to use before ya can go on the ward to see Tone can smart ma duck ;) ;D ;D

Glad everything went well Shirl.
Hope Kev behaves himself and enjoys the soup. ;)
My daughter phoned at 12 and Tony had just come out of the theatre and was in the recovery room. She phoned again at 3pm and he was still there. he was on a trolley until 6pm when he finally got a bed. he didn't complain but my daughter who is a nurse was aware of the danger of being left on a trolley for 6 hours after the op. He didn't have any sedation at all apart from the epidural so he could hear everything.I couldn't do that but he said that he would reccomend it. Fortunately his spirits were high when we saw him last night in spite of his ordeal but my daughter Sally is a nurse and is going to have a word in the right ear today and perhaps it might save some other poor soul from going through the same.
Sorry to hear of Tony's ordeal Shirl but so glad to hear he was in high spirits.
Glad Tony is through his op and wish him a speedy recovery. ;D
Hey Shirl, love to ower Tone! Pleased the op is over and he's on the mend. Its a shame about his ordeal glad that's behind him now. He'll be home soon enough demanding soup and having grapes peeled ;D
Hope you're ok hun xxxx
So glad it's all over Shirl. Upwards & onwards now.
BTW I had an epidural for a hysterectomy 11 years ago & I too would recommend it.
Would just like to add my best wishes for a speedy recovery
