Title: short hair
Post by: macmac on January 15, 2010, 17:19:28
Has anybody noticed schoolgirls have all got long hair these days.
We took our 8yr  old grandaughter to school this week and not one of the girls had short hair, same thing at the 14yr old grandsons school all the girls had long hair.
Do any of you know a short haired girl under 18 ?
(I know too much time on my hands blame the weather ) :-\

When I see girls coming out of the local school they all have long blond hair.  Can't tell them apart.  Rather like the latest picture of the Walton sextuplets.

Hadnt thought of it before but its true. Society is getting more gender stereotyped now, it is rather depressing. Whatever happened to punk? - this was my role model at 13!

I fully support this campaign http://www.pinkstinks.co.uk/ even though I quite like the odd pink thing myself.. we need to give the littluns a choice.

Hmmmm, rightly or wrongly I actively encourage Annabelle to look like a girl and have girl things in girl colours. Maybe it's a little kick back at the fact that my generation were brought up thinking boys & girls are the same. I had a doll instead of an action man ffs! I don't think equal rights should be the same as equal behaviour.

I have noticed that out of several hundred parents at school chucking out time, there are only 2 other every day dads (as well as me). Nearly all the rest are mums and there's a few grandparents and nannys. You want to know how far we've come with equality? There's your answer!

My 16 yr old and her friends nearly all have long hair...but on the other hand they all wear shorts! (Reminds me of my hot-pants days, but at least they wear thick tights underneath now! :-[)

have been ingivilating GCSEs this week -now that's a fun job!- and, out of aprox. 120 girls, there were 3 with short hair- and one of them came in with long extensions in yesterday!  There were quite a few long-haired boys though!  My eldest lad, now 35, grew his hair long at 16 and had a curly perm!  He now has a bald pate and gets a no. 2 on the rest!

My baldie baby is now 9 and has really long thick hair. It is not normal for children here in Brittany but she loves it.  Brushing it is a nightmare but she will not have it cut.  She is unusual here as she is tall and thin (not from me), with long hair.  My six year old son also has longish hair but that is because when he was in my womb he ended up with a flat back head. He does look cute though.
