Title: Bluebell bulbs ?
Post by: Mortality on January 13, 2010, 14:34:37
Ive just made a start on our back garden by clearing the Bluebell bulbs that appear to be all over it, any ideas how they would've affected the soils fertility?

I hope the onions im going to grow get as big as some of those bulbs !  ::)

I doubt if those are the type of Bluebells that are protected by law !
( That i've only just read about !  :o )

Don't know but they seem to grow like weeds in my garden. Just don't seem ever to get rid of them all.

They're not protected in a garden or on your allotment plot.  Odds on they're Spanish anyway.

Onions do like a bit of feeding.  I'd use a bit of growmore.

Just get rid of the bluebells, and compost them. They will die, eventually, if you keep the light out. They won't have affected the soil.

Last year we dug up tons of bluebell bulbs, fed the garden with chicken pellets & we had a wonderfull crop of potatoes, Onions, runner beans, strawberrys,   & Courgettes & had good growth on 2 new goosebeery trees.
Then we sold up & someone else got a lovely veggie garden.  Now we have to start all over again ::) ::) ::).  ;D
