wanted a goose but only place i could get one was morrisons and it was 35 quid!
i followed HFW'S recipe for simple roast duck with giblet gravy. what is it about the word giblet? it just sounds revolting. but i can tell you the gravy was real nice!!

We've always fancied trying goose, but they don't do small enough for two. ;D

They had loads of goose legs frozen in Lidls last year. I Have never  bought them from there.

The only time I ever tried a goose was when on Xmas Eve one year.  Sainsbodies had them knocked down to under half price. I think we paid about £14 for it at that.

There was not that much meat on it for it's size There is a big hollow in the middle of a goose, making it rather deceiving and the bones are much heavier than other poultry.

It actually only did the two of us for a couple of meals.  The flavour was very like duck but slightly stronger.  I did fill up three one pound jam jars with goose fat which costs a bomb to buy. Kept it in the fridge for a few months using it for roast spuds.

I would buy another if I got the same deal again...
