we use one of these, sparkly, we buy our meat, fish etc in bulk so it's worth the hassle vaccing them..we go for the bags as it's a mess having to cut the sheets to fit  :)
mind you, ours was a cheap one from lidl last year, we get the bags from ebay  ;D

What model is yours Manics? I had a look at the price of the bags/roll and they seemed quite expensive. This one has all fancy settings for different types of food, but if you are just using for meat etc...

Does it work well?

ours is a 'biffinett ? spelling?
we tend to do chops, steaks, salmon etc fillets in them, we usually buy enough for 6 months so I don't like freezer burn, it's great for the salmon, just pop 2 pieces in a bag with a thingy of butter, vac and seal then freeze, take out frozen, put in the microwave for about 15 mins on defrost and, hey presto  ;D

I am getting frustrated now I have searched that link.

Humour me

How much is it ?

How much as the bag thingies ?

If I am then prepared to substitute it for a liberal wrapping of cling film.

Where do I buy?

They have them on Ebay but the machine is rather expensive.
