OK Manics so your wised up to the seeds, but don't tell Shirl what ever you do. :-X :-X :-X ;D ;D ;D

To get quality seeds like 'Johnsons' at half price and Wilko's three for the price of one is rather good, ready now for the weather to warm up :)
Which seeds did you buy?
Tomatoada,
Apart from my Broad Beans, Peas and Spuds which I buy from the Allotment association I bought most of the seeds I require, but then again I will be sending away for varieties that I could not find yesterday, :)
I know have to think of a reason to go to stevenage as they have a new wilko open there, i wonder if the OH will notice if i sneak some more seeds in.......damm this addiction
Just picked up some Orange Habanero, Sugar Snap Peas and Javelin parsnips for a grand total of £2.50... :)
Too late too late.................
I told you to keep it down. ;D ;D ;D

Is that all the varities they have or just the one's you're going for, if you don't mind me asking? And also what size packs are they? No Wilko's here, but planning to import some with a relation! (no where close to matching their prices over here that I've found).
:) Hi Macy, these are Wilkos specialist varieties, one more to add Rooster, only the price tags are out at the mo, checked again tonight no stock in yet... because of the snow ::) usually up to ten seed potatoes in a bag,
they have other varieties for £2.99ish.. Desiree, Pentland Javelin etc will check price on Monday and see if any stock in ;D / shades x
Thanks, any info greatly recieved before I send over the shopping list! 8)
Went to wilkos on Saturday, bad move the OH insisted he come with me, tried to saunter down the gardening isle in a very cool manner and everything i looked at he said "do you really need that right now?" and looked me hard daring me to say yes, as he was right, i did not need anything, i just wanted it all, so i came away with a plastic cabinet on wheels with 6 drawers that i will be using to store my seeds in, in fact it has worked out so well i am getting another one and will be labelling the drawers Jan-Dec so i can crop rotate.......still sulking about the perlite and seeds tho.....
will be doing a sneaky visit back without him......
can recommend the rooster spuds and Maris Peer as purchased both from there last year and they grew well, had to get my PFA from a garden centre as i like to plant a large bag of them as they are lush!!!!!!
;D ;D Lottiedolly! My OH is a garden shopping killjoy. His favourite phrase is "do you really need that now!" I never go and get seeds with him-I always take the girls as they are my shopping monkeys-go on mum, just buy it...! ;D
Although not seeds our Wilco's has some terracotta "pins" with herb names on them @38p each... about ten different names.. had to buy some.. will probably paint them with pva to keep water out of them, to reduce the chance of them getting frosted.. :)
See, because of him i never even got to see the little terracotta signs, they sound nice and i prob would have got some of them, especially if they have them with herb names on them, they would look sweet in herb pots.
Thats it now, MUST go back without him
They also have some larger ones on "oval" plaques also terracotta... Tomatoes, Radish, Lettuce, onions, Carrots, Beetroot but they are about a pound each... :-X
just happened to be in wilkos them morning when two bags of spuds flew at me begging to be taken home.......well i couldn't just leave them there :) No OH about i find i shop getter and quicker with him!
:) Nicola seed potatoes 5 per bag for 97p, I bought 2 bags ,/ shades x
i am sneaking into nettos today at lunchtime, have heard that the seeds are 19p per pack there......must get fix....need seeds!!!!!!!
AARRRRGGGHHHH..... nettos has run out of veg seeds, they only had flower seeds, must get to wilko's. The man saifd that they restock once a week, but could not tell me when, i only went there fore the seeds

That made me snort tea everywhere. ;D Tres droll ca!
Glad I'm not the only frootloop that offers to water plants or points out the obvious abuse and neglect that goes in your average wilkos. ;)
Shhh..im desperately trying to tell myself that I have everything I need now ;D

I know..this thread may as well say..GO TO WILKOS NOW!!!!
Have you noticed the very fancy slate plant labels ( so Sarah Raven) but very unfancy price?
Yes... I'll have some of them What was it @£5 for six? I was busy with OH buying bulbs and plants but managed three of the "Collections" so got 18 packets of seeds for £5... some will be underweight compared with normal packs but fine for the numbers anyone actually wants... ;D
I went yesterday and picked up rooster, charlotte and kestrel spuds, garlic, some seeds and a dahlia. Oh and some some of the lovely terracota pins and labels. Didn't see the slate ones so may need to go back again...

I think only 2 of my seed potatoes were hens egg size :) but they look ok, tiny little green shoots on all.
Complete set of terracotta pins now collected. Had to go back for the other 5 today as OH was lurking around the perlite. ;D
you can't beat a lurk around the perlite can you?! ;D
I must be ill... not been in my favourite place for 3 days now.. takings will be down ;)/ shades x
going again on wednesday, forgot to pick up some garlic ;D ;D
Still got some seeds from last year - Aguadulce broad beans.

hahaha! Sorry wilko-it's too late, you'd better get the kettle on... ;D
I went in today for a quick browse(I was in there about an hour :-[)
I spotted some rhubarb crowns but have a question,
some of the crowns had leaves/stalks developing and some didn't,do I go for the ones with or without growth?
I always look for a bit of growth on stuff-mine was the same - I kept it in the shed until I was ready to plant it and it was fine. Left it at the old house though. :(
I also go for growth... as much as I love my second home, they sometimes sell dead plants ;D
Bought more Nicola spuds today... haven't been in Wilkos for a week .... didn't want them to go into liquidation......... ;)/ shades x
off to Wilko's in the morning... its only a 5 min walk away for me
whooopsiiiiiiiiiiiii
I've my seed spuds order ready to, but before I send it over, can any of the resident wilko addicts fill me on anything else they have at the moment, please? Particularly, any strawberries or Rhubarb available, and if so, what varieties? Thanks.
