Title: Propagator - anyone use one of these?
Post by: Squash64 on December 27, 2009, 13:04:06
Does anyone use an electric propagator similar to this one?

I've got a bigger one that I keep in the greenhouse but I wanted one that I could use in the house that didn't take up so much room.

Yes, I've had the one that takes 10 for a couple of years and wish I had another.

Yes I use one, they have their limitations, so I've acquired a seed tray sized one, but what I really want is a heated bed. Both my existing ones live in the green house, and I have noticed that the window cill one (the super7) does struggle when the temperature persistantly drops below 4oC

I use mine in the house, and therefore haven't had any problems, the ambient temp is quite constant.  The 10-tray version will actually take two full-sized seed trays side by side.

i have one and use it in the conservatory for my aubs, toms, melons, cucs, and peppers, its quite small so you dont get many seeds in the trays but it does the job. I also have a 4' x 2' progator in the greenhouse using soil warming cables and a thermostat maybe that type you have. i transfer from the super 7 to that one when potting on.
