Are you fat?  It's a common cause of snoring.

Whistle.  That works.

Also throwing a half-cup of cold water in their face.  That also works.

Or a good hard kick or dig in the ribs.  Works every time.

tickling works  ;D

I now sleep in a seperate room, as I have no hope of having any sleep otherwise...  ::)

The "nose strips" only work for some people, not for my other half... depends on what is causing the snoring (nose or throat, etc...)

I wish there was a magic solution...

Dairy intolerance can cause snoring, I speak from experience. OH has the same problem.

We both snore but my OH is much, much louder than me.  We used to keep each other awake but now have separate rooms except when we are on holiday.  At least then we can sleep in or take a nap in the afternoon to catch up with sleep.

Separate rooms is the only answer as nothing else seems to work apart from getting him to reduce his alcohol.

It does not seem to bother me when the OH starts snoring, then she says I keep her up all night. There are only two of us rattling about in this house now, but she won't go to another room. She also will not believe me when I tell her she snores.  I will have to tape her one night when she supposed to be up all night losing sleep because of me. ;)

Some years ago my sister had laser treatment to cure snoring, it worked!  But a couple of years ago she started suffering from sleep apnoea (spelling???) which is far worse and now wears a mask at night.  She was falling asleep all day, even fell asleep between speeches at her daughter's wedding.  ::) ::) ::)

I'd second the advice to avoid dairy products.

If youve tried the usual advice like not smoking, avoiding alcohol, losing weight etc, then it might be worth going for a food intolerance test www.yorktest.co.uk are good
