Hi, What eats dead mice? It was in a trap in a shed... so carrion birds are out I think. Do mice eat other mice? Hadn't checked it for a couple of days but the "damage" was fresh... ???
Rats?
That was my worry... the mess looks too neat for that... and none of the other stuff has been damaged... :-\
Tidy rats?

Tidy rats?
;D
i'd guess rats too saddad. >:( May not have had chance to mess anything else up if it was busy with the mouse!
I'd point the finger at Rats. definately too smart to pass up a free, protein - rich meal.
A rat will certainly eat a mouse. Another mouse might, as they're more omnivorous than commonly supposed, but I don't know under what circumstances.
Presumably when very cold and HUNGRY.... :o
Afterall people have been driven to it... like the "Donner" Party (No not the Kebabs!) ;D
There were those guys (I think there were footballers) who crashed in the Andes and survived by eating the dead bodies. But fortunately cases like that are seriously rare. Unless you're a Papua New Guinean honouring your deceased relative, cannibalism isn't a normal human habit!
I would say Rats as well. Ii have a visiting RAT at the moment. It disappears for a few days and then returns. Saw it today.
