Hi glosterwomble good to see some locals on here, how long have you been on your allotment then? Are there spare plots in Gloucester, bit too far for us but just wondering. Great blog by the way, your garden looks just like ours with the paper pots, plastic greenhouses, flower pouches and grow pots lol
Welcome to A4A from the corner of Gloucestershire. We have been lucky because a local farmer decided to give over part of a field for allotments, so we have 40 new plots here. Good luck with your search.

we've had our plot for about 3 years, at that time there were several available but not now, the waiting list is LONG!
I'm not sure of where the allotments are in Stroud and how long the waiting list is but I always reckon that you should just appear keen and check with them often to see where you are on the list (don't make a pain of yourself though!)
My blog is sadly neglected at the moment because I've been SO busy work wise but I will update it at some point!

I reckon you are right about just appearing keen. We did also try the landshare system but noone got back to us from the people we contacted. We do try and grown as much as we can in our small back garden but its far too small to be able to grow what we want, we have even resorted to growing upwards...on the kitchen roof, bulding a pergola to grow trailing marrows and soft fruits on etc, but need more space :)
I'm a hairdresser arunginny, I set up a new mobile business this time last year after owning a salon for 18 years and I've never been busier!!! It has meant that the allotment hasn't had as much attention this last year but we still did quite well out of it!! A good year for butternut squash, we had around 20!
Sometimes if you don't have much space you become more inventive and creative, I love the idea of you squeezing in crops here and there!!
Like your blog Glosterwomble, but whats with all those grass paths? Think of all the pumpkins you could be growing up them.

I know!! ;D When we took the plot over it was waist high in brambles and nettles so we dug out beds just to make it workable. I now can't stand having to mow the grass paths and need more growing space so the grass paths will be going next year!
