Poor old Santa ::)

I think you mean Health & safety, not PC!
No Ollie I think you'll find, its Elf & safety. :-X ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
you pipped me to the post cornykev!
At first I thought - Metro newspaper... not the most reliable source of news.
But actually yes there is an article in the BMJ. They do make some arguments which are quite interesting - Father Christmas being one of most recognised figures and all that.
But we've got so many bigger influences on us, making us all fat and unfit, that Santa is the least of it!
Cars to take us places, machines replacing physical work, too much junk food everywhere etc etc.
I don't know what the answer will be, but it won't be to do with Santa!
I think they'll have to Sack him. :-X ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
second fictional character recognised by children, first is Ronald MacDonald, he doesn't make them fat, of course ;D
Santa has done his good work over the years, surely - if Santa sees you're not eating your tea he won't be happy, if Santa sees you eating all your veg he'll be happy etc...
Give the guy a break if he's got a bit of a pot in middle age!
It sounds as though Lee from Huddersfield, who replied to The Metro article, has been following him around and consuming all the sherries. ;D ;D ;D

Have Birmingham called Christmas "Winterfest" yet? I'm sure it normally hits the tabloids about now! (And still not true!!).
This was a few years back. They wanted to call christmas Winterville.
Yes it was true.
Stupid plonkers on BCC.
Nope, they are just short of news again
Note, the phrase 'some safety experts' translates as I made it up........
