I don't qualify.... :'(
the cold weather payment? think it's only paid to peeps who are eligible for....err...dunno what it's called exactly - pension credit or something like that?...anyway it's for peeps whose total pension falls under a certain level for their age allowance (or something ::)) ?
Yes winter payment if you are on some kind of benefit.
Also increase in pension only on basic pension not on any SERP's element or pension credit. Of course if you have phone line 50p of that will go each month to enable everyone to have internet.
And anyone who is 60 after April will have free prescriptions and bus pass delayed in line with later pension age for women.
The pension increase is only for 1 year .
I would like to know where this negative interest rate comes from. If you have a mortgage may have gained but many OAP's have finished mortgage and have seen inflation in all their bills

QuoteWinter Fuel Payments
Every household with a resident aged over 60 will be eligible for extra money in winter to help with fuel bills.
If you receive Pension Credit you will also receive a Cold Weather Payment of £25 when the weather is freezing or below.
And don't bloody forget it come election day.
Same for anybody who gets help with childcare or has a free place in nursery. Please do not forget just how crap this country was before 1997 - it might not be all roses now but it really was all shite then.
True :)
