Have you had the one from "SKY" saying your Warranty has expired & here's a new one for £60?? The original cost of the set-up!!
Sky are well known for selling both present and past customers databases on to independent insurance companies. These insurers then attempt to contact all customers & sell them cover for their skybox some use questionable sales techniques.
Just the same as white goods when you don't take out the extra warranty! I think you have to register your purchase to make sure you get the manufacturer's minimum cover and then your details are there for all and sundry.
Another tact is the water board and covering pipes from your house boundary to your home.
We've got an old sky dish still up on the roof after they fitted the new smaller HD one, can we get it removed without a charge ???
Grumphhhh!

Certainly you can.
Offer it on freecycle (freegal) and tell who ever wants it to take it down.
We tried that PurpleHeather and when the guy came round he said "Oh noooooo, too steep up the side of the house for me to take it down" and no other interest at all :(
