Title: They've been 'stolen' ...
Post by: lavenderlux on December 09, 2009, 08:58:19
the berries from my variegated Holly, that is!  I'd grown this from a cutting started around 15 years ago, it had a few berries last year and this year had a lot and I was going to use some of the branches to make a wreath for my father's grave.  They were there on Sunday but this morning, they've all gone. OH's comment was 'well they've gone to a good cause' - ie the local blackbirds.

The branches will still make a lovely wreath. Variegated holly so pretty. At least the birds are happy.  ::)

Red berries follow a good spring when the flowers were getting pollinated.
