Country Diary, yesterday, mentioned that the Redwings had reached Shropshire.
Quick like a bunny to net the Holly berries.
Too late, mate. All gone - with birds still on the bushes!!
'fraid so, the birds have been feasting on the berries this year, seems like more than usual.
What a shame! Still the redwings probably need them more than we do!
With my alternative sense of humour I found it quite amusing that you chose, quite correctly, to post this in non-edible plants! Clearly not as far as the birds are concerned. :)
Why can't they go for the Cotoneaster, of which we've got acres??
It's not their fault that's what they like ;) ;) ;)
