Title: Echinacea puperea: Planting distances
Post by: Digitalis on November 30, 2009, 21:05:17
I have just received 6 dormant Echinacea purperea plants.

I am going to plant them tomorrow. Can you tell me how far I should leave between each one?

Thanks.

I've planted them out today, but am unsure if I've put them too deep.

I planted them so that the 'crown' is only slightly poking up above the soil.

Is this too deep?

Hello Gordon,

I bought my ones from JParkers online. They were in the special offer section.

I think you could grow them in pots as long as they are big enough- say, 10 litres, or so.

Good luck.

Hello
Just a note about growing in pots , Echinacea are really thirsty so consider adding water retaining granules or at least get some deep saucers under them by april.
Good luck They are gorgeous plants
