If you are a newbie and you are looking for some basic information on allotments and cultivation then you may find the "For Newbies" page on the A4A wiki a good starting point. It contains links to selected sources of information, many provided by experienced A4A plot holders, providing a useful starter for a newbie.
Go to the wiki main page by clicking either on the wiki button at the top of this page or on the following link ...

... and then click on "For Newbies" in the displayed menu.
Was just wondering, as a newbie, why isn`t there an introduction thread for us to introduce ourselves?
Look in "The Shed" -"general" and you will find sticky topic where you can do just that :)
Hi All,
I'm a newbie, and am having trouble with the A4A wiki. Is it broken, or is it something to do with the Mac I'm using???
BTW I've been to the shed and it was empty...
Any hints on the above would be helpful.
Confused, of Essex.
nope, not just you, welcome to a4a ;D

It's working now thank very much mods, just had a quick look and it seems very interesting and informative, not got time to read just at the moment but will have a good look later.
Many thanks (again!!)
Welcome to A4A Green-stuff...
Tony and some others chat in the virtual shed in the evening... they're all in their real sheds while it's light.. ;D
The Shed can be found here http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/index.php/board,13.0.html
The thread to introduce yourselves is in the sticky ones at the top.
I think green-stuff was referring to The Shed for live chat, not the sub-forum. Bit academic anyway as they last visited in March.
In case anyone is unaware Wiki is back up and running http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
Wiki link can be found on the main page on the right hand side along with Amazon link.
what is a wiki button in plain, understandable English. I don't understand computer driven drivel & it really, really annoys me.
It is a button (actually just a link) that takes you to our wiki page.
