Title: Pegs
Post by: Doris_Pinks on October 25, 2004, 22:29:47
Found another use for the humble peg today! Whilst bubble wrapping the greenhouse I got tired of those stick in green pegs that cost a fortune and fly out of the frame at the drop of a hat, so now have a lovely colourful collection of pegs holding everything together! (can even clip them to the framework in mine!) Pretty it may not be, but easy to do and will be easy to take down! (trouble is now I have nothing to hang my washing out with! ;D DP

Oh if I could do that with mine,
But saying that on lottie I had wire coat hangers as hoops over lettuce plants covered in fleece and yep pegs holding the fleece on the ends held down with large stones. Looked strange but worked fine.
It takes a woman to think of these things ha ha

I used clothes pegs last frosty season to secure fleece to row marker sticks after I saw a vertical arrangement for sweet peas at local agricultural college. Next year I plan to make white fly protection for carrots with fleece pegged vertically to bamboo canes in same way.
I bought a huge bag from pound store. The bright colours make stray ones easy to find and they are easy to store til needed too.   :)

I also use mine to hold fleece, weed suppressing membrane etc. onto my raised beds.
