Mine has not been paid yet. Last year I received it on the 22nd. Nov.. When I rang up got an automated message saying that payments would be paid before Christmas. Anyone else getting it late?
My payment has not arrived, but I got a letter to say it is coming!!
nothing as yet. ???
Mine was paid into my bank account on Wednesday. :)
OH nothing yet
Got the letter, will find out next statement. :) :)
Nothing as yet - not even a letter to say its coming
In my bank on Wednesday.
Nothing, the drinks are on Flighty.
:-[We have had ours
Had my letter Tuesday, money in bank yesterday.
Thanks for replies. But was it later than last year. Mine use to be early Nov. but has got later every year.
Nothing, I am overdrawn. Shouldn't have paid over £800 for a holiday after Xmas (I blame my rich friend for persuading me). Perhaps they do it alphabetically, and my surname is Williams. :( :( I use it for Xmas presents as I pay monthly for electric and gas. Better make some pumpkin soup.

so has winter!! ( we still ain't had a frost here)
Well In Glos Now its Turning Colder so I recon You will all be getting it soon
Except me as i,m too young ;D
Why would anyone phone up yet about this payment? It isn't even winter as we know winter yet.
Makes you think these 'oldies' don't use this money for their fuel payments ;D No wonder people object to them getting this freebie.
Like any money from the state it never arrives until after you needed it... I don't qualify BTW...
If they pay for the fuel bill themselves from another source they can use it for what they want... it's not like "free School Meals" used to be when you got a token/ticket you could only redeem there...
;)
That's a shame then saddad. What a waste of the tax payers money then.
Arriving in Nov/Dec would hardly be after when it is needed.
It is this time of year, even though the worst weather comes in January. But those worried about Xmas can use some of the cash they have put away for next years bills without going into debt.
Thanks for explaining that Ace, it makes me feel better ;D ;D ;D
I still don't see why anyone would be phoning up in November to see where it was ???
I suppose though if it's a FREE phone call and you can't get to the lottie it's one way of passing the time ;D
Hello Folks, I've had my winter payment of £125.00 the wife is still waiting for her payment to come through, :)
Not got mine yet.........not old enough....still a spring chicken me. ;D
Directgov website just says
Your Winter Fuel Payment should be with you by Christmas
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Pensionsandretirementplanning/index.htm (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Pensionsandretirementplanning/index.htm)
My OH starts with a B so the alphabetical bit cannot be the answer. He has just got letter saying its coming before Christmas. Perhaps it depends on your age.
Or national insurance number? Mine starts with a Y. :(
Could be. Mine begins with a K.
It's not paid alphabetically it's paid by NI number (well 2 digits of it) and to a certain extent the length of time you have been receiving the winter fuel payments (new claims can take longer to process so may be delayed). If the payment has not been made by 30th December you may have been overlooked & you then you need to contact them to ensure your claim is in & they have the correct details for you before the 30th of March otherwise you may miss out.
Not sure why I know this I'm not eligible for winter fuel payments for another 30 years & they will probably of scrapped it by then.

Unless you and your OH keep separate homes, why a payment to you both - what's the rationality in that? Puzzled :-[

It's absolutely mad. I was getting the full amount until my OH became 60. Now it is divided in two and we get half each. It goes into the same bank account! ::)
yes same here it goes into the same place but requires 2 separate letters to the same address. by the way I have had mine but OH has just had the letter but not the payment yet. when I received Tax credit altho I was the sole earner we were
judged as a couple but all the paperwork which was identical except for the addressee were sent separately to our same address1 there was a lot of paperwork sent in a a4 envelopes. it just shows how much money is wasted as well as the paper (over half of which was shredded and went in the bin)
marg
My letter came today so hope money will be in the bank soon or may ring up again. LOL.
We where only talking about this last night. OH turned 60 this year filled the paper work in and was wondering how long it took to come. So thanks one and all for the info. ;D ;D
Not all couples share things so they have to allow for all cases, we get £250.00 between us but a single load of fuel is £325.00 we have no other means of heating.Still I will get another 25p a week in about 18 months any ideas what I can spend all that on, ;D ;D
