For a few weeks all the oil tankers have been moored up around the island today they are on the move. Which means there has been a hike in the oil prices. They've been waiting out in the channel until the oil price went up.
We're getting ripped off again.
Apparently the value of their contents was increasing by up to $1m per day, makes perfect sense for them to wait - obviously not such good news for the consumer.
They were making their own artificial oil shortage. About time we stood up and got counted in England. Call a national strike until the government puts a stop to it.
I'm with Ace, the frogs might be tossers but they know how to have a proper strike. :o ;D ;D ;D

;D :-*
Petrol has been going up 2p every time I fill up for a couple of weeks.
YES!!!! We need to do something about this, last time it went up everyone complained and we had protests. This time nobody seems bothered and as Digeroo says it has gone up EVERY time we fill up!!!!!!
I've been on strike for sometime now and I don't think anyone's noticed.
P'haps I need a few more banners about the place.
When I was young people really stuck up for themselves.Strikes and demos some times things went too far but you really felt you had a voice, people now days just witter on twitter or sign an on line protest to number 10.BORING.
I agree the French know how to do it ;D

Unfortunately the days of a good French strike seem to be gone.
Quite rightly, IMO, the farmers here had a strike over milk - think Uk farmers and Tesco, but Tesco is Sarkozy - the government has them is a stronghold so it died a death.
Fuel prices are also rising here but there are no signs of any action. Maybe "les rosbifs" can start the protests and lead the way.
Has this country ever had a good french strike? Me thinks not.
I like the French and they certainly know how to get off their bums and strike.
We really deserve what we get by our government, we are far too complacent, amazing really as we seem to love to go to war ::)
Snip
Remember the miners strike........real men who knew what a days graft was
Remember the power cuts of the seventies
The firepersons strike
What do you all mean ??
A quarter of an inch of snow or a few wet leaves and the whole country grinds to a halt.
Who needs strikes?
I hardly think referring to the Miner's strike is anything to be proud of.
To strike and get the result you want is a good strike. Not lose an industry and whole communities with many families lives ruined. The worst thing that could have happened to this country was that strike.
maybe this is the British way, give me the French way if your miners strike is anything to go by.
It doesn't bother me if fuel goes up in price, but I'm unimpressed that a member can use language such as "the frogs might be tossers" without being challenged on his gratuitously offensive xenophobia.

Errr the strike was to stop Maggie from killing "an industry and whole communities with many families lives ruined."
She announced the closure of all the pits, then the miners came out to defend their "industry and whole communities".
The miners didn't ask for it, and faced with limit police and law changing government, it was never going to be a strike they could win.
The Thatcher plan was designed to close all industry and make us a nation of paper pushers. which is why we are totally depend on imports the keep the lights on.
I think you'll find Scargill thought he'd bring down Thatcher. Thatcher set out to break the unions and Scargill thought he'd take her on. Not what you're saying pesky.
He is to blame for the loss of whole communities whatever way you want to look at it.
Effectively she broke the Labour party at the end of the day, hence you're New Labour
"the frogs might be tossers"
or they might not.... :-X
You must be rich unwashed to not bother about fuel going up in price.
It has a knock on effect on everything else we have to buy :)
No snip snip she is to blame.
Let us not rewrite history ;D
As if betula ;D
But get your facts right. You're sounding 'red'.
As red as blood.always and forever ;D
oh for heavens sakes, here we go again
My sister always makes me laugh about buying petrol. She refuses to buy it until she absolutely has to and when I say, 'just fill up whilst we're out' she answers with a very indignant, 'no, I'm not, it really gives me the hump having to buy it' and when I point out that she has to eventually, she just says, 'yeah, well I'll wait until I have to then' ;D Every time! Not being a driver I spose I don't really pay attention to the price hikes, even when my OH drives out of his way to find a bargain price, LOL
i use electric power to move around. so i dont give a toss abought the french or petrol prices
I think I said, they MIGHT be tossers. ;) ;D ;D ;D
Come on you Mights, lets stop being indecisive, stand up and be counted we are not putting up with this slur. We are either tossers or we are not. there is no middle ground!
The next thing you know you will be growing unwashed wooly heads and voting liberal. now that really would make you a wan tosser. ;)
MIGHTS UNITE.
LOL Ace, I think we should Unite over the price of petrol.
Elvis, I don't think it's here we go again, it's good winter banter.
And, as for betula, you can't beat a good red blooded woman any day ;D ;D ;D
