Title: Where to get those tiny bags from?
Post by: Squash64 on November 21, 2009, 16:52:44
Where can I get those tiny clear plastic bags that some of you have put seeds in for the seed swap?  Are they called ziplock or something?

Shops ;D ;D, most supermarkets and even my corner shop sell them.  They are good for sandwiches, seeds, etc. etc. and yes they do zip up, good for freezer as well.

Ebay is quite good for manageable quantities of the smaller sizes

A few pounds could see your lottie shop stocked for the foreseeable

I'd second eBay, a search for "small ziplock" brings up 1000 for £3.98.

I use the ones with three white lines on them that you can write on, and use them for all my saved seeds. I get mine from 'Captain Bags' who sells on eBay and gives you free samples of different sizes with your orders.

Ebay probably the cheapest place. The very tiny ones are used for seeds, computer screws and class A drugs  :-X Might be one of those items that Mr Plod keeps an eye on if bought in quantity!

thanks for that, TeeGee !!
IMHO (FWIW), paper bags are better than plastic for seeds, they are sustainable, and the seeds don't 'sweat' and rot so much in paper. ;)
