Fed up with the old CD player and radio that I had broken the ariel off and stuck a pair of scissors in to make it work and it was terrrible reception, so ordered one from Argos this morning and picked it up (a wooden Bush radio and got it half price). It is brilliant, but it does need tuning into stations, I have saved one station, but how (this is going to sound silly now) do I get the old Home Service or whatever station Womens Hour or Gardening Programmes are on. May have to wait for granddaughter to come as all I can get at present is music programmes (which she will love, and she does call me silly Nanny, which is a joke as I tease her) sport and news. Wish I had got one with a dial. (sad). I do like to listen whilst cooking pumpkin soup, and kicking the cat (not really, but the terrible twin is here again, and has been upstairs doing a rekky on my bed) where Charlie (my cat) is asleep.
LOL Borlotti........I think you mean Raidio 4 and beyond that I am no help at all ;D
Yup Radio 4 is the 1 you are on about ;D
DAB ???
Yes that is great, but how do I get it, bl...dy new technology, will wait for daughter, granddaughter, they will know, dancing round the kitchen cooking soup. Got told off by Manuel, met him on the way home with radio and a leek that I bought, said he had loads, but I couldn't just take them could I??? Using up his pumpkin though.
??? Yes that is great, but how do I get it,
It is a Bush DAB FM, whatever that means, and am quite happy with Gold at the moment, dancing around the cat likes it. Got so fed up with TV with idiots.
You don't tune a DAB radio like a conventional radio. There'll be a button to push that'll find all the stations, and then you'll probably have to step through them to find the one that says radio4. And you'll love PlanetRock!

Yep thats what i was trying to say ;D ;D ;D ;D
DAB digital radio is not satellite radio. DAB digital radio is not internet radio. DAB digital radio is a new way of broadcasting radio via a network of terrestrial transmitters. It provides listeners with more choice, better sound quality and more information. DAB digital radio is like analogue radio, only better.
I am reading the instruction booklet, and have even got Punjab radio and the lovely rock stations but no radio 4 or whatever yet. Perhaps I will go on Dragons Den and make a few things that are easy to operate, that radios, mobile phones, I like a phone that rings and I pick up a receiver, how sad is that, but I am probably not alone. I want LBC.

Providing that you are in a good reception area. google dab reception on your pc then put in your postcode, that should give you your reception rating and should also tell you how to tune in. If you have digital tv set up already you should have all the stations on your telly. Press the audio button. Then go and get a refund on your radio.
Yes I get my radio via the Tv,it is very good.
In the kitchen I have a repro Bush Radio and I can just twiddle the dial and that keeps me happy ;D
Don't have TV in the kitchen, I am sure I will sort it. I won't tell you I am not too good with the TV either you will get cross, just stick to the 4/5 channels, and can't work the DVD's as you have to replug things. Don't really care, but OH and men do get cross, find it all so boring, just want an on and off switch. Just off to find radio 4.
The DVD is the on i have problems with recording something one day it works next day it don,t :)
I've got radio 4, why didn't they just say in the manuel that it was alphabetical and you had to go through all the different stations. Have saved it, so there. Result.
because manuals are rarely written in a logical / customer friendly way! Grrrr
Anyway Borlotti - result ;D
Borlotti is in the digital age now ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well you may mock, but I was one of the first people to learn word processing, used to have a manual then a golf ball typewriter, then became word processing supervisor, then we got all the university students with computer knowledge and I was training them, but they knew more than me. I also did desk top publishing, but that was taken over by AppleMac. Don't care now because I am retired (retarded) as OH says.
;D
No Mocking here
Only Joking :D
I reckon she's radio rental. :-X ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well done, but it would have been easier if you had tried numerical instead of alphabetical and stop asking poor old Manuel how to do it. (he's from Barcelona) ;D

Actually Manuel is Portugese and very generous with his pumpkins. Think I put a bit too much hot pepper in the soup, breathing fire now. My brother made me a crystal set when I was little, then he went in the RAF and I could never make it work. :( :(
I could do with Manuel and his pumpkins.......... ;D
I am jealous Borlotti ;D ;D ;D
My DAB has numbered buttons. If you are listening to the station you want, then hold down a button, say number four, for a few seconds, it will beep and store that station on that button. Then when you want say Radio 4, just press button four.
Yes that is brilliant, but I have to find the station first. Have got BBC4 and Gold and saved them but got a bit fed up with looking for others, found LBC once and then lost it, will try again tomorrow. I am afraid I am not very patient, too many choices.
Sorry, can't stay on here, have just sorted out my new radio, and saved my favourite stations, easy when you know how. Pleased with it, and it came from Argos half price. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I got the same one on saturday isn't it a bargain? All I do is press the scroll button and it shows you all the stations, just stop pushing it when you get to the one you want ;)
