Title: allotments in Denmark!
Post by: mormor on November 13, 2009, 13:28:22
Hi.I have just joined A4A and have an allotment just outside Copenhagen. Is there  anyone else around suffering the miserable and wet and dark November in the north?
Was out today hacking at an elder tree, collecting sprouts and onions and drinking tea!

We did have a member from Denmark but he has not posted recently.  He was a huge fan of seaweed.

Not as far north as you but very wet and windy on the south coast today. So definitely a day for drinking tea !

And welcome to A4A Mormor  ;D

Hi Mormor!!:)

Welcome to A4A. I joined this forum in 2008 and have found it a really useful place to be. There is always someone here that can answer your questions.
I would love to see some photos of your allotment one day.

Duke :)

welcome to A4A!
my OH took me to Copenhagen for my 30th birthday, it's a beautiful city. unfortunately it was the beginning of February so a lot of places were still closed but we spent hours exploring on foot and had a great weekend.
someone I know here in Norfolk lives in Mor Mor Cottage - he did a bit of investigating into the origins of the name and but I can't remember exactly what he found out (memory like a sieve ::)) am I right in thinking mormor means maternal grandmother?
wet and windy here in Norwich, hoping it will have blown over by Sunday so I can get my onions in... hope you enjoy the site :)

Thanks for all your welcoming words. Yes, Mormor does mean maternal grandmother. I have a lovely fiveyearold grandson.
I'll try to send a picture or too if I can find out how to do it!
If it succeeds you will see that our sheds are small houses (huts?) which all have to be the same Swedish red colour. OK by me!
