who's gonna eat some rabbit? something we've never tried but will see if there's any in the market next week..plus, may try that gratin with some of our parsnips and celeriac ;D
I love rabbit but did not like the bits about them in the programme.
Anyone grown Salsify? and scorzonera? He was very enthusiastic. Never tried it myself.

i tried to grow scorzonera this year but african marigolds grew instead :-\, will try again next year with a new packet of seed.
What a drag I rejected a packet for 10p

Yes I grew Salsify last year, we loved it. A bit thin rooted and fiddly to prepare.....its a cross between a mild parsnip and carrot in flavour. The texture is lovely and creamy.
In my opinion......well worth the effort ;D
bloke on our allotments grew it in a raised bed for the first time this year, he seemed to like it ;D
Had salsify in my local farm shop this week. Shall have to try it now!
Trying it sounds a good idea. No joke growing something and then discovering you do not like it.
We grew it, along with scorzonero, didn't like either - seeds went into a swap :) :) :)
