Who has this new version of IE. What do you think of it?
I recently tried it on my XP laptop and it was hopeless! Looked fine, good features but it was very slow to load and display my homepage compared to IE 7. It then caused the whole PC to grind to a halt - nothing would respond not even shut down. As you can expect I uninstalled it as soon as I could.
I seem to remember something similar happening when IE7 came out and i first installed it. It was fine when I tried it again some months later so perhaps it is too soon to judge.
why bother? when you can use Firefox http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
works for everyone that I kno ;)
I agree with tonybloke but IE8 is pretty stable on most of my test rigs. Using it now but I use Firefox as well..
If you update to IE8 go to windows update immediately and check for updates for IE8 - it may help.
I am faced with rolling it out to 700 machines so I am always interested to hear how it fairs....
I don't have any problems with it on any of my machines, though I do tend to use Firefox more.

I stopped using IE years ago, went onto Firefox. Earlier this year I changed to SeaMonkey suite (another Mosillla product) which brings together Browser, Email client, Address Book and Composer, the latter for editing .html pages for websites.
I also have firefox and use it a lot but sometimes use IE as it can be better for some things than firefox (or at least it is for me). So it is nice to have IE as up to date as possible. Like I said in my OP IE 8 looks good, and has some good new features if only it would work properly on my machines!
: Google Chrome Web Browser
is ok too
